About Cornish Charcuterie; Award Winning British Charcuterie Producers

DSC_0127Cornish Charcuterie is based at Norton Barton Farm located just outside Bude in North Cornwall and home to Richard and Fionagh Harding and their four children.

Following successful careers in The City, once they became parents they wanted to give their children a quality of life only available in a rural environment.  They decided to convert their passion for food into a business that would revolve around farming traditional breeds which thrive in local conditions; their aim, to produce exceptional quality British Charcuterie using home produced ingredients in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner.

The long term aim was  to create a food village
The last six years has seen them invest in the livestock and food production facilities, learn animal husbandry, deal with the vast amount of regulations and associated paperwork, pass various levels of food hygiene qualifications to satisfy the Environmental Health officers; all whilst developing great tasting products using top quality ingredients to appeal to a discerning clientele .  Since they launched Cornish Charcuterie in November 2011 they have won a stream of awards including multiple golds and a Best in Category for Light Eats at the prestigious Taste of the West 2013 Awards.  Not only that, Richard & Fionagh’s dream of a Norton Barton Artisan Food Village is now a reality with the recent announcement that they have been awarded FEZ (Food Enterprise Zone) status; in addition to production of their own award winning British Charcuterie, Whalesborough Cheese and Popti Cornish Bakehouse make their amazing products on the farm. North Coast Cider will be produced on site as soon as the Cider Barn is finished and the Distillery should be up and running by Christmas.  All of the products produced on the farm will be available in the Farm Deli located in the Cider Barn.  We hope to announce the official opening soon so keep checking back or sign up to our Newsletter.

Finally, we will soon be marketing Norton Barton Granary as a function suite and wedding venue.  The Granary was recently host to a conference held by DEFRA and the first official function will be the Shebbear College year 5 prom.  Please address any queries to fionagh@cornishcharcuterie.co.uk.
